Week 16

The recruit class had an eventful week 16! We started out learning how to identify fake ID's, then moved on to learning about Narcotics investigations. Specifically, we learned about the different drugs and paraphernalia that are prevalent in Lincoln.
On Wednesday, we learned about the Below 100 Initiative, which is a partnership between Law Enforcement agencies from across the country to promote officer safety and well-being, with the goal being to bring annual line of duty deaths under 100. At the end of the week, we learned some Ground and Knife Defense, and we were all exposed to OC. We were all sprayed in the eyes by our partners, and had to fight through the intense burning sensation to complete a series of obstacles. Being exposed to OC was a humbling experience for all of us, but was ultimately a positive experience in the sense that we proved to ourselves that we can fight through it's effects and get the job done. Hopefully next week will be a bit less painful!
